V Convention throughout the Years
2001 witnessed the rapid expansion of the network, and the need for training events and projects began to climb. Soon enough, motivational, product and personality development trainings were being held all over the world to support the flourishing network.
In time, it became apparent that these types of localised training events were not enough. There needed to be something more comprehensive, something that can bring the whole network together. We needed to gather all the business leaders and top-notch trainers into one momentous, life-changing celebration of the work, commitment and spirit of what it means to be in The V.
The V-Convention is the flagship event of The V; it is the company’s biggest event, in terms of both attendance and scope. It features the largest pool of speakers in any V event, composed of V Partners, Associate V Partners and V Council members and special guests.
The V Convention is a celebration of what it means to be in the V. Each V Con operates under its own theme, but ultimately it is a reminder to us all: This is who we are. This is what we do.
The very first V-Con was held in Bali, Indonesia on 12 to 16 January 2001, which was attended by 150 people. It was a 5-day event held at the Grand Hyatt Hotel and was themed Gotong Royong, meaning “cooperation among many people to attain a shared goal”. After this very first V-Con the number of attendance has grown exponentially.
V-Con Goa, India. This event welcomed three times more than the inaugural V-Con in Bali. It was themed “The Essence of Leadership”. Due to the big number of participants, the organizers were compelled to hold two events from April 7 to 11 and the other from April 14 to 18.
V-Con Kota Kinabalu . The event was held at the Sutera Harbour Resorts in Kota Kinabalu, Saba, Malaysian Borneo. This V-Con carried the theme “The Essence of Success”
Euro V-Con Greece . The V held its very first V-Convention in Europe at the Rodus Palace Hotel in the island of Rhodes, Greece from June 6 to 9. “The Essence of Unity” was the theme for this V-Con.
V-Con Dubai . Held during the 6th Anniversary of the company carrying the theme “Celebrate a New Beginning” The participants of this event were very privilege because they witnessed the launched of Dato’ Vijay Eswaran’s first written work, In the Sphere of Silence.
V-Con Thailand . V-Thailand saw for the first time the number of V-Con participants reaching the 1000-mark. The event carried the theme “Only the Best for the Best”. Seeing how V-Con has also become a family experience, V-Thailand also saw the birth of what would eventually become V-Kids.
V-Malaysia (Sunway) . This is one of the lucky years for our Networkers as the V-Con was held in two continents. First, in Madrid and the second one was in Malaysia, themed “Over the Top”. It was also the V-Con after Thailand to conduct V-Kids and since then it has been a regular part of every V-Convention.
Euro V-Con Madrid . This event served as a celebration of two milestone’s in the company’s history. First, the 8th anniversary of the QI Group of Companies and second, QI’s title sponsorship of the 2006 International Badminton Federation World Championship. This was a firm statement of the company’s credibility, prestige and stability.
V-Con Jakarta carried the theme of our famous slogan, Your Success, Our Passion. Back then it was a slogan of empowerment, which urged our leaders to fight and work hard in order to achieve their goals in life.
V-Africa (Kenya) . This V-Con was held in Kenyyata International Conference Center in Nairobi from October 28 to November 1.
V-Africa (Uganda) . 1500 people from all over the world gathered at the Munyonyo Commonwealth Resort in Kampala, Uganda. It was full-on festival with contagious marry-making, singing, dancing filling the marquee with palpable energy and high spirits.
V-Malaysia (Penang) . 4,500 attendees was the record for this year’s first V-Con held at Penang International Sports Area on the 21 to 25 of May. Another highlight of the event was the V-Kids Convention that had 124 participants. This V-Convention bannered the theme “Celebrating 10 Years of Leadership and Success”.
V-Malaysia (Shah Alam) . Following the company’s thrust toward professionalism, V-Malaysia 2009 in the Malawati Indoor Stadium in Shah Alam formally and symbolically ushered in a new era of professionalism in the company. With the theme “The Change Begins” 6000 participants came from all over the world, making this one of the largest V Conventions in history.
V-Malaysia (Bukit Jalil) . 8,000 participants came to the Putra Stadium in the National Sports Complex in Bukit Jalil, Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia on June 24 to 28. With the theme “We Are One” we had strengthened the bonds that hold us together and make The V family more formidable as ever.
V-Malaysia (Bukit Jalil) . We return to the sprawling National Sports Stadium in Bukit Jalil, Malaysia for an even more outstanding V-Convention. 10,000 IRs came to be part of this event. Some of the highlights include: The launch of the new V RYTHM awardee, Narayanan Krishnan, the birth of the I’m MAD campaign and announcement of new V Ambassadors. This V-Con carried the theme “Belief”.
V-Indonesia . We went back to Indonesia for the 16th V-Convention. Last year’s V-Convention held in Sentul International Convention Centre, was unlike anything you have ever seen before! With over 10,000 participants coming from all parts of the world, truly it was another amazing and mind-blowing VCon!
This year we are about to break grounds again as we bring not just one but two V-Convention! On the second quarter of the year we will set foot once again in Shah Alam, Malaysia. Now the question is, are you ready to be part of the RYTHM Nation?
